Shikaras at Sukhna Lake
Chandigarh Industrial & Tourism Development Corporation has launched Shikaras into the Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh w.e.f. 1st Jan, 2007. The two Shikaras have been brought in especially from Kashmir, which are made of Deodhar Wood. The Shikaras have added new dimension to the boating in Sukhna Lake and enhance the beauty of the Lake. Just like the Shikaras, its rowers also belong to Kashmir who are trained in plying Shikaras. The Shikaras are well decorated and have colourful outlook. The two four seater Shikaras have become popular with the tourists and local people. The rate fixed for the Shikaras is Rs. 80/- for two persons up to 30 minutes and Rs. 40/- per additional person. WEARING OF LIFE JACKET IS MANDATORY.
