CITCO is setting up a "state of art" Petrol Station
23rd October, 2009 – Today H.E.Gen. (Retd.) Dr. S. F. Rodrigues, PVSM VSM, Governor of Punjab & Administrator U.T., Chandigarh laid the foundation stone of (CITCO) Petrol Station and LPG Outlet in Sector 38 (West), Chandigarh.
CITCO, a premier tourism organization of Chandigarh Administration is successfully managing petrol station in sector 9, Chandigarh since 1993. This Petrol Station is already having a reputation for supplying of pure and sure measurements of petroleum products to the residents of tricity of Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali. Due to CITCO’s leadership and eminence in petroleum sector in Chandigarh, CITCO is setting up a “state of art” petrol station & LPG outlet in southern sector of Chandigarh, thus, expanding its business operations in the field of petroleum sector.
Chandigarh Administration has allotted land for setting up Petrol Station and LPG Outlet in sector 38(West), Chandigarh.
Shri D.K. Tiwari, IAS, Managing Director CITCO, has stated that the petrol station and LPG outlet shall be set up in collaboration with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.
The Indian Oil corporation shall spend an amount of Rs. 3.50 crores on creation of “state of art” petroleum infrastructure which shall make this CITCO’s petrol station as the biggest petrol station with LPG facilities in Chandigarh:
Fully automated dispensing system of petroleum products shall be installed, which shall ensure that pure and correct measurement of fuel is dispensed in the vehicles.
Also special nitrogen tyre inflators shall be installed for the customers so as to provide extra long and better life of tyres of various vehicles and to ensure less maintenance costs.
Further Managing director CITCO stated that for the first time non-space dispensing nozzles shall be fitted in any petrol station in Chandigarh, which shall not require any extra space for dispensing of fuel and shall have and automated system from the ceiling of the petrol units.
Sh. G.C. Daga, Director (Marketing), Indian Oil Corporation specially came from Mumbai for the foundation stone laying ceremony and assured CITCO management that this CITCO petrol station shall be the most model petrol station in the city. Mr. Daga was accompanied by Sh. R.K. Arora, General Manager, North India, Indian Oil Corporation.
This petrol station shall go a long way in providing petroleum products for vehicles of the residents of Chandigarh as well Mohali and also for the vehicles entering Chandigarh from Punjab sides. As per the directive of Chandigarh administration for switching over of diesel driven three-wheelers to LPG fuel and therefore CITCO’s special LPG outlet facility shall meet the requirements of LPG run vehicles which will ensure reduction in pollution in Chandigarh.
